The business of the REIA is led by a Board of Directors, who guide the strategic direction and policy goals of the REIA. The Board works with the CEO and an experienced management team to achieve beneficial outcomes for the Institute and its members.
The Board of Directors consists of one representative from each state or territory, nominated by the respective state or territory Real Estate Institute.
David commenced his career in the real estate industry in 1973 and now with over 30 years experience in every facet of the industry, greatly enjoy the challenges of listing and selling property for a wide range of valued clients.
David’s current business, Airey & Associates is a diversified suburban full service agency practice dedicated to selling high quality property in the western suburbs of Perth.
Chris has served on the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania (REIT) Board since 1989 and was State President from 1998 - 2000. Chris is also an REIT trainer.
Chris is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and CPM, Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Associate Member of the Real Estate Institute of Australia.
Stan Platis is a current REIA Board Director and has been since 2004. Stan has been involved in the real estate industry for over 19 years and is currently the Regional Sales Director for Independent Property Group, Canberra.
Stan was elected as a Councillor of the Real Estate Institute of the ACT (REIACT) in 1999, becoming Vice President in 2000 and Deputy President in 2002.
Stan was President of REIACT from 2002 - 2005 and still is a current Board Director. Stan has also sat on the REIACT Board as the Past President. In 2006 Stan became an associate of the REIA (AREI).
Steve recently joined the REIA as a Board Director and is the current President of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW), a role that he has held since November 2007.
Steve has also held the position of Deputy President of REINSW and been a member of the REINSW Board since 1999.
Steve is the Managing Director of Colliers International Albury Wodonga, specialising in residential and commercial sales and leasing, both in VIC and NSW.
Pamela has been a Director on the REIA Board since 2006, has Chaired the Consistent Education and Licensing Committee over the last three years and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.Pamela Bennett is a licensed real estate agent, having operated a business initially as an independent in 1975 then as one of 20 inaugural Queensland agents to form the Professional Group in 1978. After 31 years sold the suburban Brisbane agency and in 2007 became an independent buyer/sellers agent in the inner Brisbane suburb of Teneriffe.
Pamela is a Fellow of the REIQ and as of July 2009 was elected the Chair of the REIQ Board, having serviced on the Board of Directors of the REIQ since 1999.
REIA Board Director Morgan Shearer has lived in the Northern Territory for 40 years. He has been involved in the real estate industry for 24 years and is a fully licensed land and business agent and auctioneer, with experience in all facets of the industry.
He is a Board Director of REINT and was NT Auctioneer of the Year in 2000 and 2004, runner-up in 2005, and represented the NT in the Australasian Real Estate Institutes Auctioneering Championship in 2005 and 2006.
Rob has had long involvement with REIWA, he was elected to REIWA Council in 2003.
Rob operates from Druitt & Shead First National Real Estate in Doubleview. He commenced in real estate in 1989 and since obtaining his real estate licence in 1992 has been licensee of the office.
Rob is an accomplished auctioneer of ten years experience, he has represented WA in the Australasian Auctioneering Finals on three occasions.
Mark Sanderson has been a REIA Board Director for over four years .
Mark has been practising real estate for over 22 years and is a Director of Smallacombe Sanderson Real Estate. He is a qualified auctioneer and was a finalist in the Golden Gavel Awards in 1995.
Mark was the President of REISA for two years until October 2007, during which time he oversaw the Institute’s campaign for amendments to new real estate legislation, the introduction of a new Real Estate Code, the establishment of an Auction Task Force and many other initiatives.
Neil Laws was recently elected as an REIA Board Director. He was elected President of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) for 2007, after six years on the Board.
Neil is currently a Fellow of the REIA and the Australian Property Institute, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Managers.
Neil is the Principal of Jens-Gaunt Real Estate (Bellarine) Pty Ltd which is based in the historic coastal town of Queenscliff where his company specialises in the sale, leasing and valuation of coastal and lifestyle properties.
