Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) President, Ms Pamela Bennett says the COAG Reform Council report on housing affordability released last week should be a clear signal to the Government that a concerted plan of action to address the issues that impact on the affordability of renting and buying is urgently needed.
Ms Bennett says the barriers to housing affordability have been discussed at length from a range of perspectives and this most recent report should be a wake-up call to the Government that action is long-overdue.
"We all know where the problems lie. What we need is a plan of action to actually do something about it," Ms Bennett said.
