The Real Estate Industry of Australia (REIA) says proposed national licensing of property-related professionals should aspire to raise standards, not dilute those already in place. REIA warns that if the proposal released by the Government is adopted it may lead to a drop in consumer confidence in the sector.
The comments follow the Council of Australian Governments’ (COAG) release of its Regulation Impact Statement on national licensing for the real estate industry, one of a range of licensed professions targeted under the scheme.
